Local charities and community groups are once again being invited to apply for grants that will help make a difference as Kavanagh & Coates Funeral Services in Heywood opens applications for the next cycle of their Community Assistance Programme.
Up to £1,000 is available from the funding pot for this cycle. The fund aims to support local activities that enhance the quality of life for residents living within a 3-mile radius of their funeral home in Heywood.
Projects must align with one or more of four categories: Health, Education, Employment Opportunities, and Poverty and Social Deprivation.
Recipients of Community Assistance Programme grants from the last round in 2025 were Parkinson’s UK Rochdale for hydrotherapy sessions for people living with the condition, and Heywood in Bloom to help improve a local allotment’s accessibility.
The deadline for applications for the first cycle of 2026 is Sunday 29 March.
Funeral Director Samantha Collier said: “As a funeral service rooted in the community, it’s a privilege to support inspiring organisations that are making such a positive difference locally. We’re delighted to be able to offer this funding and would encourage any local groups with a project that supports the community to apply.”
